... eight days after another concise review for the Sony W80 (and, apparently, an unannounced update to the 40D review).

Still not at DPReview's previous "full speed", but it certainly shows they're steaming up to it.

And yet another review posted today. They are on a roll!
Hmm another canon compact camera! (would be nice for other makers to get a look in too!)

Clint is on holiday! Soon to return! ;-)

I know, i know... it's coincidence i promise. And it gets worse (the G9 is next) but then I promise that's the end of canon compacts for now!

LoL they r on a roll what a joke ever since the takeover by Amazon they have been slower than a dead snail with their reviews. Come on where are the important reviews we r all waiting for. Eos 40d Sony A700 both cameras r even on sale in UK now so that shows just how behind DP r now with the reviews if we can buy the camera. ( Remeber UK is always the last ones to get the cameras for sale).

Come on DP get your fingers out and give us the reviews that matter.

Today we got another review from a P&S, it's the 4th one since the last DSLR was fully reviewed (July). There are so many DSLR out like the Mark III, 40D, D300, D3 etc.

Phil, is it because Amazon sells more P&S than DSLR? I remember your site was one of the first with reviews. I hope we can see some DSLR reviews, asap and before Christmas please ;-)

How long do you think it takes to do a compact review?

And how long do you think it takes to do a DSLR?

If it takes months and months to do a review, perhaps you could do it in stages?

One of the most valuable things about your reviews is your expression of a general opinion about how the camera operates and, generally, about image quality. I find all of the technical information valuable as well, but if you published quick "initial" opinions, instead of just previews that seem like more detailed press releases, perhaps you could provide more valuable information sooner to your readers.

Obviously, you will decide the level of detail you want, but I think we would all agree that a PhD level dissertation review of every DSLR would be helpful to some, but wouldnt be worth the wait.

It was not a complaint Phil, you know we are dying to see the next DSLR review from you, because your reviews are the best outthere. Many guys and girls decide "what to buy" only of the result from your reviews.

Whats the next Camerareview Phil?? :)))

This forum and your reviews are like drugs mixed with sugar, just can't get enough fast enough!
So, don't take any complaining too seriously, it just means they want more.
Kinda like little birdies in a nest wanting to be fed!

Since I learned, shooting with film,... I think negative!

Actually, I'm interested in that forthcoming G9 review of yours, and I couldn't care less that it is “another compact”... or that it is another Canon, for that matter: I'm still interested, and I reckon I'm not the only one.

As for the A570 IS, I was a bit surprised to see it reviewed now , being a camera announced some eight months ago, that is, well before the SD870 IS and S5 IS (this one reviewed three months ago). But I guess it's better late than never, and besides, this one's just three days after the previous one, and it's a full review, not a concise one.

In sum, I'm glad to see that you guys are definitely back to speed.
