I've been look at ways to mount my Sigma 500 DG super off shoe and ran across these:
http://www.gadgetinfinity.com/product.php?productid=16766&cat=0&page=

I'm thinking of getting some but I'm concerned about sync speeds. The product page says:

"Responding time: 1/500s - 1/1000s (actual sync speed varies from 1/125s to 1/600s depending on the sync speed of flash / strobe);"

And I know the xti lists the x-sync speed as 1/200. Will these triggering units work or are they too slow?

When I use it at home, I can always sync at 1/200s, with my 350D. However, one time I brought it along to a wedding, and I got half frame or blacked out frames, indicating slower sync speed. I'm not sure if the problem was because the wedding reception hall was much larger than my home studio, or that there were some radio frequency inteference at that particular location.

If reliability across all locations is your main concern, then try something more expensive. If you're just setting up a home studio, then this device is the cheapest you can get.

I have the same thing and it works fine at 1/200th on my XT. I wouldn't call these 100% reliable. Mine seem to work 75% of the time but it is not an issue to me. Since we have digital I can usually just grab another shot a second or two later. Some of the mis-fired might also be due to recycle since I can't see the ready indicator.

I highly recommend since you can get them so cheap. The Canon hot-shoe sync cord I have previously cost more and only lets me move the flash 2 feet or so!

I used v1, not sure about mr3wan

Have two of them (V2s) for 1 week now (already asked in this forum before) and I'm satisfied. No misfire whatsoever. Actually I orderd another two to use in photographing theatrical rehearsals this week. I'm using a Canon 380X, and 4 x Metz 20Cs. All is cool.
