Test: Can you see these images?

After following your instructions, Tom, I can now open the 'new window' and see the picture, and then as you said, I refresh the page and finally see your sig photo. I'll try the others now that I've refreshed it. THankew!

Right above the window with the red x in it. It's part of the
DPReview menu, up above the image window, where it says Zoom Out /
Zoom 100% / Zoom In / Expand / Contract / New Window.

I've clicked on all of 'em. Except Contract. I wasn't sure what I'd
be contracting for.

I could not see them at first and then I noticed that my bar at the bottom said there were 9 items loading. This went on for quite awhile until all of a sudden "pop" there they were. Seriously, it took maybe three full minutes to load. Catherine

There is an option in the Zoom Out/Zoom In etc. line for "New Window." Click on that and it should open a new IE window with the image. Then if you refresh the post window, the images you've opened in a new window should appear in the post.

Weird but true.

Who knows why or how....but now the images show up just like they used to. Must have reset something in IE..............

Love the snaggly toothed camels, the purple guitar, and the roadsign to everywhere with the lighthouse in the background!

Woo woo!

... click on the "Help" menu at the top of your browser and then "About Internet Explorer" -- a splash page should open with the version information.

Hi Catherine,

Are you running IE7 as your browser? I'm wondering why that should be an issue if it hasn't been in the past? Something on the dpreview site, or something with my ISP (Comcast) I wonder? I use the free hosting they provide. I've never had a problem posting pics on dpreview for the past three years... until now.

Sounds like you've gone all Revival Meeting on us, Lucy. :o)

Nice to hear that you can see again. Catherine must have a lot of patience. She said they finally showed up on their own... after about three minutes! (They aren't all that big... maybe slightly bigger than Challenge pics...)

Tom,

I think it is all to do with cookies being blocked. I have my security settings set to Medium.

I had closed IE7 then re-opened it, this time the first message opened with the empty frames for the pictures and red x's in the corners. I was able to bring up the privacy report icon in bottom status line and it tells me that it is blocking an attempt to load cookies!

I don't think I have Firefox set as tightly in the security settings.

Hope this helps.

Typeaux, I noticed your sig pic didn't show up in my thread about E3 but just assumed it is taking longer to download. Your test images in this thread didn't appear until I clicked on the 'new window' And what a surprice, after this, your sig pic showed up in the E3 thread as soon as I opened your response!

I just got home, and at 5 PM CDT, I can see 'em all three. Further, I've never had any trouble with your images. I use three ISPs. I'm on Firefox now.
