Has anyone tried the Lenmar 1500mAh Li-ion Battery with the E-510? Can it be charged in the Olympus charger? How does it compare capacity-wise to the Olympus offering?

Thanks, as always :)

What is the best place to buy--for price and reliability--either the Energizer or Uniross batteries?

I've used Lenmar replacement batteries for a number of P&S, Prosumer, and DSLR applications (although not my E-1 or E-510).

My experience has been they offer excellent price performance, although occasionally their sizing is a bit off so I've had to add a little plastic or fabric tab to them on to easily remove them from a battery compartment (beats shaking them out). Most I've tried fit fine but the ones I got for my DMC-L1 needed tabs for easy removal. They've always charged fine with the factory charging method.

I think reputable after-market batteries are great for everyday use. All the Lenmar ones I've gotten had 2 year full replacement warrantees so I considered them reputable.

If I'm going on a once in a lifetime vacation though I bring factory spares ;-)

Hope this helps.

I bought 4 of those $5each + shipping battery's off of that Chinese EBay seller.

I know I should not have done that for risk of a pyrotechnics display while charging, but I can say after many many charges and uses, that I cannot tell the difference between those cheap-o's and the OEM batteries.

I blame it on Oly for asking $80 each for theirs. We know what batteries cost. Shame on them.

......just keep the fire extinguisher close by and don't charge while you are not home :)

I purchased a UniRoss BLM-1 replacement battery from MDS. Delivered price of this premium replacement battery was much less than any price I could find on the Olympus OEM battery and it arrived in Texas from the UK in only (4)four days.
