spot on my F31fd pictures

I don't see anything except something on the lower 1/3 of the pic and it looks like something on the wall not the lens,

might be an actual spot on the wall that is hard for you to see but is showing up more clearly from the photograph

Any recommendation for a Fuji center to use in CA? How much do they charge you for a cleaning?

I had the same problem, and actually went around for over six months with an oblong dust spec in the center of all my shots because sending it in to repair would mean a month without the cam, and too many photo-worthy events were coming one after the other.

I had read about the vacuum cleaner solution, and also read that it was dangerous. What made me decide to try it was when a guy posted on Flickr that Fuji tech support in Canada told him over the phone that that's how he gets rid of dust bits. I tried it a little over a month ago, and poof, dust spec gone.

Just be careful not to let the vacuum hose form a seal against your camera, so leave about a finger's width of space there, and don't let it suck for more than several seconds.

An extra word of caution... the end of the lens barrel (the slim portion with the printing on it that houses the shutter, and the tiny shutter springs) is only held on with two spots of silicone. Just so you know the risk...

Check out

If my camera was under warranty I dont think I would do this trick... But I did the Vacuum trick on my Sony P200 (way out of Warranty) and it worked...

I did tape a Toilet paper tube to the end of my vacuum nozzle for a safer/better fit on the sony lens... I also cut a couple of small V's in the end of the tube where it touched the camera so that it was not a complete tight fit against the camera.

Mine was, and still is, under warranty. 10 months old to be exact. I did send it back to the place I purchased it from and their 'engineer' couldn't find anything wrong with it. Thinking that maybe the dust spot had shifted in transit on its way to them I had high hopes for when I received the camera back. Lo and behold, when I powered it back up, yep, there was the spot in exactly the same place. So I tried the vacuum cleaner and now no more dust spot... And also no more purchases from that particular UK company.

Tried the vaccum approach - didnt help in my case :-( .. I suppose I will have to check with a Fuji center in CA.

Could you please help me figure out what this spot is and how might I
get rid of it?
I've seen such spots on my F20. Example here:

It's pretty apparent about 2/3 of the way down .. near the intersection of Catalina Is. and the sea.

Looks just like what I see with my DSLR just before I clean the sensor. So I think it is on the sensor of my F20

First "spotted" (pun intended!) in Jan 2007, it's still there and I see it in very few shots -- e.g., here:

So I've just left it alone (particularly since I now have an F31fd.
