Last year at this time there were 6 full reviews in 60 days on Canon models alone. So far this YEAR I count no more than 6 full reviews across ALL makes. Has he stopped doing full reviews? What a shame. This was the attraction to the board. As it stands, except for the discussion board, this site is now no more than a glorified billboard.

Not to criticize, but I sure relied on those full reviews upon which to base my purchase decisions.

On the front page, there is a review for a new Sony Cybershot. It clearly says on in the blurb that there are more 'headline' reviews in the pipe. Be patient.

I am getting sick of that kind of bathroom-style posts. Do-it-yourself, and post your own review of anything... Including DPR.

You could easily have posted this one of the other 200 threads complaining about lack or reviews. Since you did not do that, I guess you are just an attention seeker.
Another messed up mind.

Windmills, just do it.

Stop complaining so much, further, if you are so good at finding statistics like how many reviews he has done and the rate at doing them. I would have thought you would have stumbled on the numerous post where he and simon tell everyone they have been in the middle of a move and without and office/studio for periods of time. The newest P&S mentions the reviews will start coming again.

So for crying out loud, stop whining about reviews. Further, Phil can only produce as many SLR reviews in a year as he receives production SLRs that year. He can't produce more, but can produce less.

Yes indeed, the situation regarding reviews has been explained several times but it seems some would rather complain than actuall read what Phil has posted. It does become a bit tiresome and it must really be a pain for Phil and staff.

Shoot lots of pictures, always fill the frame

Just how many cameras were you planning on purchasing this year?

Panasonic FZ10, FZ50
Olympus E-510
Fuji S602Z, A825

Remember . . . always keep the box and everything that came in it!

Phil's post and explanation and give the guy some slack. Too many posts like this have popped up even after his comments, which is at the top of the threads at the moment.

the way you are whining. This is a FREE site. There is plenty of value on here. reviews will come when they are ready, not when you or I want them.

Now - try to be somewhat understanding - IMHO.

Those that asks/complains are not psychic. They have probably missed the information regarding the explanation.

...quality than quantity.
Easy to say. Does not work for P&S cameras though. There are many small rectangular metal looking things. They all look the same and costs about the same. But - unfortunately - as reviews here have shown ... they vary a lot regarding OPTICAL quality.

So - every one has to be tested. Because the good ones in the reviews fast go out of stock at dealers.

So - a reliable quickie review regarding optical quality for each new P&S is of high value to the customers.

My whine detector only reached 1.4 for the original post. Strangely enough - it did hit 3.8 for your post though. Whining at the whiner seems counter productive. Wait ---- even higher value for this post!!!! Where shall this end?

And thus why they shouldn't be posting. If you don't visit the site enough to notice such things, and it would have been very hard not to notice. You shoulding be posting such comments about reviews being missing since you very likely have missed things. This person though even looks to have dug around for info on the reviews, so even harder to see how they missed information on the move.

Same goes for anytime someone post something that has been posted many many times before. When pointed out it's old, they always go off about how they didn't know. Well, you shouldn't go posting stuff (new links type things), if you don't visit enough to know what has or has not been posted.

Hey! Relax man. Its not really that important.

BTW - moreover - you are also wrong :)

Its very easy to see what reviews there are. They are listed.

To find a random news article or post is very hard though.

So - it is very easy to see that the review frequency is going down or up.

And it is also very easy to miss any post that tells why - if there is any.

I noticed a drop in full reviews since the... ahem... Amazon 'change'.
There should have been a full Canon 40D DP review by now if the universe
was right.

(or maybe I missed the link?)

hmmm.
