*** Mini-Challenge #160 : **Vacation Destinations ***.

Antarctica is the most beautiful place I've visited. I'm definitely going back.

Petermann Island in the Lamaire Channel, taken with the film Rebel at 19mm:

The tiny boat in the middle is actually quite large and has a capacity of over 100 passengers and about that number of staff.

Tlon,
Beautiful photograph for such a contrasty image but looks very cold. Nice work.

Thanks!

Actually it wasn't that cold - the passengers from the northern USA and Canada even left their heavy clothing at home. On the fourth day we had 18deg c (global warming, I guess)

Congrats for the second win, Bob, an amazing photo. An excellent topic. A great bunch of photos in this challenge - lots to learn and enjoy from.

The ice-age left many beautiful lakes in Upper Bavaria, the foreland of the Bavarian Alps.

The Bavarian Alps are well-known for great views and nice rock climbing.

But be aware of the Bavarian summer weather. (Picture not for the challenge.)

Thanks for looking. Comments and criticisms are welcome.

Wertdinger,

You are welcome. Beautiful photographs with your A610, you sure know how to to the best of it. I think I like the second one the best as it such a clear day that you can see the little villages dotting the valley. Very nice colors on all the entries. The non-entry is charming.

Good selection of entries. My favorite is the second one with its misty, foggy dream look to it.

bdery,

Is it possible to resize the images and resubmit? When I expanded the first one it was atleast five screens wide and I had to use the back arrow to close it.
