Hello,

I've been lurking here for about a year now, I have a D50 I bought last year, along with a SB600 and SB800, normal lens 18- 55 and a 70 - 200. Mostly take vacation pics and pics of my sexy wife. I'm wanting to learn more about lighting right now.

I just bought a Tamron 28 - 75 f 2.8 today as my standard lens. I really like it so far, it's sharp and fast. I'm looking for a 80 - 200 f 2.8 to go along with it, looking at the Nikon and the Sigma right now. The search feature is down right now, any input from the crowd?

Thanks

Jeff

I myself have been just reading posts here for sometime now. I just got a new sigma 70-200 2.8 lens . I posted my first pic just now . I like the lens so far.I upgraded from a 20-700 4.0

Welcome - how about sharing some pics with us. One question though, if you have the 70-200 which is 2.8 with VR, why would you need an 80-200 also?

Thanks Ral,

Sorry for the confusion, my 70 - 200 is actually a 70 - 300 old AF, G series I bought for my wife a few years ago for her N65. It's very slow and not very sharp.

When I use to shoot film, I had a Tokina 80 - 200 f 2.8, I loved it.

Here's a pic of my wife. This is the type of photography I want to work on.

seems somehow you have changed the pic that was here to a different pic
I dont think this pic belongs on this forum however nice just dont belong here

Not sure what lens you had/have, but if you had a 700mm f/4 lens it would have to be 20" long and weigh 35 pounds. I'm sure its a mistype as I have never seen a 20-700 f/4.

I have the Sigma you just upgraded to, its a fine lens and produces very sharp shots when well exposed.

That 20 - 700 is one AWESOME Lens!!! ;)

Sorry about the pic, not sure how it got changed. I just threw this one in as a placeholder.

Well, I got carried away today and bought a D80 and a 50 - 200 VR lens just to have something. They didn't have the Sigma 70 - 200 f 2.8 in stock today :(
I already love the wireless commander mode for by strobes. That is so cool.

I'll be hanging out more here picking up tips!

Thanks
