I took these yesterday afternoon when the sky was so lovely. G9 does a great job and I hope you like these. Standard settings I use of -1 Contrast and Sharpness, Auto ISO and P mode. They work for me every time with few exceptions.

As usual, Russel, these are very good. Your photos are very encouraging to people who are on the fence. I know if I didn't have the G9 already, I'd be looking for one after viewing your shots.

You have some great places for photo ops around you.

Thank you Maria. Yes, we are fortunate in having some fine country areas close by and I love going out and enjoying the peace and quiet. Can hardly get a bad picture in places such as these.

Yes, I did some minor sharpening but did notice the look you speak of and don't have any idea what is wrong.

Wow! Love the clouds, they really make for some wonderful shots. Just love the burro, wish I could take him home with me ;-)

Thanks for kind words. I had another of the burro which I edited a bit and it is a better pic. This one seems soft to me.

And, thank you for the kind reply. I have lived here almost all my life and still love the countryside. And never tire of taking pictures, just came in from my backyard where I was taking pics in near dark light:-))

Thank you, I felt it and some others were a bit soft. I was more interested in capturing the sky than anything I guess. I snapped another of the donkey and edited it a bit and like it better. Good luck to you. I read your post yesterday and hope you have great luck with your G9. I went from 30D to G9 and never looked back, but that was already told here and is a long story.

Actually about 80% of the reason for me buing the '9' was for my wife snap pics of our baby. She's a total NON photographer, so I've taught her to switch the camera on, put it on full auto, zoom in and out and press the button, so it will be interesting to see the results from auto mode.

I'll always have a DSLR, and the new 5D when it comes out will be high on my shopping list.

Rumor has it the replacement for the 5D will be the 7D...but that's just a rumor ;-)
