D60 B&H Order and allotment... waiting waiting

Talked with B&H again about the ETA for my D60. Still getting the same responds 1-2 weeks.

Pressed for where I am on the queue, and the guy said around 600. But they're expecting a 1000 lot.

That doesn't sound good. So, even though they're expecting a 1000 lot, who knows how many they may receive per week. If it's 100 or 200 per week, this might drag out a while before I received one.

And the itch continues. Sadly, still waiting in the delivery room, I feel!

600! Wow, that is one freaking long waiting list. I would agree with you, they probably get a couple hundred at a time.

It is turning out that major internet/online vendors are less likely to provide one with a D60 in a timely manner. Local and smaller outfits receive fewer units but have much less demand for them...

Hopefully B&H can come trhough for you as they did for me.

I was on Calumet's list (and, for that matter, they were dishonest about just how far from the front I was despite siging up months in advance). Anyway, as the first few D30s appeared, I found out I wasn't about to get anything from Calumet fora long long time.

So I called B&H, and got one in the first week. I don't know how or why.

I hope the waiting lists are filled quickly. I am still toying with the idea of demoting my D30 and addidng the D60 as my production camera.
