Hi - I want to post a Reflection taken with my f707. How do I
insert the photo into the posting? Copy-Paste doesn't seem
supported.
thanks!
Dale
--Helen--- http://community.webshots.com/user/helenpb_The best way is to post them on the web somewhere like pbase.com
then on a smaller than original version, say medium or large, right
click on your image. Go down the little menu to properties, and
click it. That should bring up a box that shows the address or URL
(among other things). Highlight it, copy it, and then come back to
dpreview.com In the body of your message, paste that address
(URL), and viola! Your pick will apprear! Click the preview
button to see if you have done this correctly before you post!
Thanks,
Eric

There are instructions both on this site and in the FAQ.

The instructions are easily found in both places. Click rules/help here, or just read the isntructions when you click new post.I really did search all the forums and did not find instructions on
this. Nor in FAQ for dpReview. I thought that was a bit odd since
posting a photo is such an integral part of the board.
To tell you the truth, I didn't find instructions on it in your FAQ
link below either.

I don't know how to make things any easier to find in my FAQ.
Did you actually look?

Use search (ctrl-f in Explorer) inside of a web page that you think
might have useful information for you, e.g., the FAQ.
You can also search this site for the dozen or so threads on
precisely your question.
Thank goodness everybody doesn't have your combination of laziness
and self-righteousness...

You did a search of the forums? You know it really was quite an innocent question. I did do a
search on the forums. I did scan your 87 items. Forgive me for
not meeting your lofty standards. Talk about
self-righteousness.....

I typed the subject line of your message into the search engine and
got a ton of relevant hits.
In fact, "embed photo," "insert photo," paste photo," etc., etc.
all return relevant hits.
Why am I picking on you? I don't think you're telling the truth.
I don't think you read the FAQ. I don't think you read the
instructions on this site and I don't think you searched the forum.
Nobody could be so inept as to do all of these things and never see
any information on how to link pictures.
It's one thing to overlook the obvious or ask stupid questions;
everybody does it from time to time. Lots of people are
disoriented on their first visit here. Fine. We point them to the
right resources and they get into the swim of things. It's another
thing to start lying about what you've actually done or to resent
that you're expected to show a modicum of initiative in following
up on the advice you're offered. Sheesh...

And this is something you're bragging about?Well, actually I am new here and had a hard time of it myself until
another more experienced poster was kind enough to help me without
the attitude.

welcome.
--DeeDee G. http://www.pbase.com/deedee_g/rootUlysses - this thread is over 2 months old, so hopefully they have
figured things out by now.
It got bumped to the top because some guy came across it in a
search and decided to flame me because he didn't like the attitude
I took with the original poster (dbargen), who claimed to have done
a search, read the instructions, and read my FAQ, but still failed
to find any information on how to post pictures.
Mind you, the problem was not one of needing clarification. He
said that he was unable to find any information on the topic. I
guess I have an "attitude" for getting impatient with such
characters...
