Tokina 16-50mm f/2.8 user report???

1/60th 16mm f2.8 iso 100

100% crop

100% crop after sharpening

enjoy. I think its performing quite well, not insanely sharp like my old olympus 50mm F2 macro but then its a wide angle to normal f2.8 zoom... and its built like a tank.

There is some blue CA on the topleft point from the Seastar. Can you try to correct that in Camera RAW? This jpg is not sufficient to try it myself. Thanks!

Thanks but I think DXO is messing to much with the details when looking next to each other to these two images.

I agree, DxO has blurred the details. This is an example of CA correction with default DxO settings across the board. I have DxO primarily for lens distortion correction but was suprised to find it a capable photo editing program, either for RAW or jpgs.

Looks like you had a good time :-) No offence but as a shot to see the potential of the Tokina it is not really usefull to me. Still.. that was not the intention of those pictures offcourse.

So.. keep them coming :-)

Yup. Just wondering - actually the first thing I noticed was that it looked somewhat "waterpaint-ish" and then I saw the noise in the bacground. So I thought that is high-ISO shot, but was surprised when I looked at the EXIF in the full-sized photo to see the ISO was so low...
Besides the noise it is a very sharp picture!

at the extreme and this shot is better than I would have expected. In fact it needs no apologies as the 100% crop reveals. Did you crop this photo? If not, the face it off the center sweet spot and makes the results all that more impressive.
