My husband & I rode up to Brown County, Indiana. It's an Arts & Crafts town with over 150 Shops & a great Park to stay in, in a Lodge or in one of the Cabins.

Anyway, we were walking & riding all around & I found an old Barn that begged to be shot on an old backroad. Of course I had my husband stop in the middle of the road while I ran over a ditch & in a field to get a couple of shots. He said: "No one in his (her) mind would even want a picture of that!" Besides he almost got 'runned over' by a pickum-up truck waiting for me.

Would you do it or am I out of my mind? I know I need to work on it but..anyway.....

Here's a shot in the town, flowers everywhere

I love old barns & out buildings. Reminds me of my childhood. And I had fun even if I'm not in my right mind! :D Shayron--ybnormal

I have lots of pics of old barns. I would have shot this in an instant! If we don't record old barns like these, soon nobody will ever know what they looked like cuz they just don't make'em like this anymore. Good job! Cindy--CindyD or SarahD (STF won't let us each have an account!)If one of us is laughing, and the other one isn't, one of us must be wrong...

Oh gosh, yes. I drive my wife nuts. In fact, its the driving that gets in the way, not the stopping! lol

I think the old barn shot is fantastic...as a photographer, I would have done what you did.

As a husband...I dunno...we hubby's have to stick together, you know! (kidding, kidding!).

Forgot to mention....not only would I have stopped to take those two, I would have taken the time to do a ton of closeups of all those colorful flowers!

Like Jim (Shutter) said...I drive my wife nuts when we go places with the camera(s). And I drive her nuts when we don't take the camera, saying "I SHOULD have taken the camera! Why didn't I take it? Because YOU told me not to!" ROFL!!!

Heheheh.......I'm glad I'm not the only nutcase around here, my son hates going on drives into the countryside when I take the 707 (which is always), it takes twice as long when you factor in the photog sessions along the way, at least my daughter dosn't mind since I gave her my old P50.
All the best

Not only would I do, I did it this weekend...LOL. My son and I were going to my Mother's house, and there is this one spot along the way, a pond with two loan chairs...I've admired it many times. We decided to stop this time, and take some pictures....Pictures didn't turn out as great a I hoped it would, we may have to stop again .

Now, My son is on the lookout for any outstanding shots! LOL. We had fun!

So, yes! I would stop!

I wouldn't have taken a picture of that, I would have probably filled a 128MB stick. Get it from every angle, inside and out.

I do the same thing myself. I've got an abandoned barn on my way to work. So far, I've captured it with a Kodak DC280, a Kodak DC4800 and now with my F707. It's so old and rustic, each camera made an enjoyable shot! But boy, the F707 just plan ol' KICKS BUTT!

Thanks for sharing.
--I dislike Sony but love my TRV-30 and F707!!!

Thank you everyone. My husband now knows: I am not alone. I really appreciated your encouragement & comments.

I started with a box camera. Since then I've had the polaroid, disk, that real thin one that used the cartridge, 3 - Canon AE1s, A Sony FD-91 Mavica, a few off brands & now my 707. The 707 is by far the neatest, greatest camera I've ever owned. If it got lost (heaven forbid) I'd have to find a way to replace it immediately. I would cry, lay on the floor & kick and hold my breath until I turned Blue! lol :D

I'm serious when I say that I feel naked without a camera. Some of my family said that I could enjoy things more if I'd just 'watch' instead of taking pictures. I say to them: I will have the longer lasting memories that they ask for copies of a couple of days later.

This probably has happened to you All: You see the perfect picture when you aren't armed. I would like to hear some of else's horror show when a camera wasn't by your side.

I paint from my pictures and I have 2 pictures I can't recall well enough to paint. One was at a Stock Yard Saturday flea market. It is where the Farmers come to sell, swap or buy everything from peanuts to livestock. I love it. A couple of years ago a Farmer was selling chickens. No big deal but sitting on the back of the old beat-up truck bed was this little freckled face-red headed gir. She was swinging her legs, humming and holding her pet (I asked). Her pet was a Chicken. I've had pets like that all my life. Her face shined from a good washing and she had on the cleanest, prettiest faded calico dress that must have been handed down thru 6 kids. But it was spotless. I could have cried. I couldn't even find a sketch pad. I haven't gotten over that one yet.

Sorry I do go on... so I'll spare you the other picture until later. Does anyone have a 'wish I had' picture? :) Shayron
