Nikon D3 / D300 official sample photos !!!

Wow, despite my bias (Olympus) I'm blown away by these. That ISO 3200 image looks superb. I dont care who makes it, progress is progress, and as far as i can see this is cutting edge. (today!)

I think manufacturers often have to be even more careful not to mis-represent than reviewers.

.I don't give so much for samples supplied by the manufacturer. (n/t)
When there were some early D3 users reports and sample photos spreading around various forums, I kept hearing

" I don't care what this guy says, show me the offical sample from Nikon and then I will believe him"

"Why is there no offical sample from Nikon? I think they have something to hide about the PQ."

Hi,

That ISO 3200 sample is something else. Very very sharp and clean, even though there is quite obvious noise reduction going on. What's more, downsize it to 6mp and you'd think it was ISO 100. No banding either.

Still though, they'd have to make the camera (the D3 and the D300 as well) a lot smaller before I'd take it with me to the places I'd actually want to take photographs. It would be very nice if they released a small full frame consumer body. It would revolutionise the market.

Who needs High ISO when you can have Pure Whey?

The D3 images are very impressive. But we still don't seem to have
much in the way of samples from the D300. That is a bit surprising
since there are already impressive samples from the A700. Perhaps
Nikon does not want to distract attention from the D3.
Maybe the D3 just has reached a more final level of development?

And what does the Alpha 700 have to do with what Nikon is doing?

Those of us who saw prints (aside competitor's prints) are not surprised.

I am about to buy the D300 but I before I would like to make sure if the camara is god for printing large pics on a Plotter. Right now I am using a Fuji Finepix S5 Pro and the results are poor (pixels missing at postersize).
All my lenses for Fuji are Nikonlenses so I am stuck to Nikon.

I can't reach the D3. What would be better than D300 in the 1500 - 2000 $ priverange ? Thanks for your help.

I wonder if that's a typo or something. The samples that say "ISO 640" look like ISO 800 on my D40.

are you sure you are not mis-reading 6400? I don't see any 640 shots on the official site

Lucky you. I have yet to find impressive α700 samples :)
