Having seen that Ergo has surgically attached himself to the computer, and has nodes that are connected from his brain to this forum, I've decided to spearhead a fund that will go towards Ergo leaving his house and getting the fresh air that he needs. This fund is called H.E.L.P (Help Ergo Lower Post totals)

I am in the process of setting up a Paypal account where all can donate towards this worthy cause. Yes. YOU can make a difference in this man's life. For just the price of a coffee a day, you can keep Ergo ON the streets, and out of his house. We'll send you updates and pictures on how Ergo is adapting to the fresh air. Help cut down his 93 messages a week to a number representing a figure deemed healthy by the PWAA (Post Watcher's Association of America). And at the same time, part of the donations will go towards others in his digital village that suffer from the same circumstances. DomDP is suffering from this as well, and needs your help. Please have a heart and donate. We need your help.

Thanks,

BAH:

Sign me up! Let's get him back into photography! Of course, this means he will have to forfeit his assortment of lingerie!

I'm all in favor of kicking him out into the yard with unfilterd air and everything. He'll get a charge out of it. The graphics are awesome. But I want to suggest that we wean him off slowly...... The sudden withdrawal might make him want to do strange things with appliances. . .oh, wait. . . .-- http://www.pbase.com/bjornsen (pbase contributor)There's three kinds of people in this world. I was thinking that part of the fund would go towards a mentor that would walk with him and others step by step at their pace. You never want someone to go out like that in 1 huge step. That'd be like resurfacing way too quickly in scuba and getting the bends. Thanks for your point.

words here on oly talk forum. I can't wait to read Uncle Ergo's comeback for this one. BAH you have reached a climax in your literary life.

Not to get too serious, I follow the forum at work alot (shhh don't tell my Boss), harder with the warm weather to get on at night, but the addictive nature pulls me to check in for those juicy evening conversations between Daniella and 3DTim, and of course Ergo.....not to be missed are the wonderful comebacks from the rest of the gang.

But I'll take some of the money, no problem.

Oh by the way Thanks BAH (I think)--DomDP-NJC-2100UZPbase Supporter http://www.pbase.com/domdp 'Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are.' --Malcom Forbes

LOL. Thanks for your support DomDP. It's important to get the locals involved with such a reviving process. It's better to teach a man to fish than it is to send them to another village to steal a fish. Ummmmm... yeah....

we can't leave him down there much longer 'cause he's showing signs of nitrogen narcosis, or perhaps a more apt diagnosis would be digital dementia. And then someone is going to have to help him hook up with the Support Group.

I feel awful. I forgot about DomDP!! I'm too far away. Can someone drive over and do an intervention? Don't be fooled by his lucid communications. HE'S HURTING!!

Don't worry about it. We've sent a few volunteers over to DomDP's workplace to open the blinds and crack open the window. We're hoping this will stir the sleeping giant from his digital slumber. Keep your fingers crossed.

Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe, his neighbor-hood association has DEMANDED that Ergo not be let out. Maybe he is under house arrest for a reason! Shouldn't we check with the proper authorities BEFORE we send Erg back into the WILD! Just think how awful it would be if he were set loose in your backyard....

Just think how many old appliances are laying around in the yard in his part of the world. Just think of the danger that all the clothes lines in that area that have lingerie hanging on would be subjected to. Short of raiding a town, where else would he go to get his supplies to "DRESS" all the naked washers, dryers, refrigs......

That's great Kim. I can tell you have a great heart for people in need. I wish there were more people like yourelf. Thanks for your support. We'll be sending a picture of Ergo and his current status profile to you in the mail. Every 3 months or so we will send you a progress report. Often the sponsored individual will send his or her sponsor a drawing, or a written song, or a paper craft. Any ways.... Thanks....

Ah, where do I send the check?

Must you be so negative? When forest rangers release bears, there is always the risk of them coming back into human contact. But we MUST give them a chance gosh darn it to heck! Ergo deserves a chance to feel grass between his toes and bird poop falling on his shoulder. I don't know about you, but I'm willing to take the chance.....

Brian, I must admit when I read your post that I had the same thoughts as Duane. Maybe Ergo's neighbours are already paying for his computer and internet hookup to keep him OFF the streets (and their hoovers, coffee machines, lawnmovers, etc.). Maybe some research is required before launching your venture. As for Dom, don't believe a word he's saying. He's notorious for his ability to make good excuses and blame circumstances and other people for his acts (such as changing Sandman's name to Sandbox in the Portrait Gallery and posting a phony picture of buzzy).

Isn't there a 12 step program for this? :)

Perhaps you're right Maxven. I think we could compromise a bit and perhaps keep him in an outdoor enclosure where he couldn't escape, but he could share the same experiences of those who go outside. At the same time, new UZI owners could practice those longer telephoto Ergo shots in the wild kind of thing. Thanks for the insights...

This reminds me of that commercial where you send in your donation and then they send you a picture of this child you helped in another country. Thats what we could do for Ergo!
