Is there a photo presentation software (or a website / flash program) that allows to comment and / or rate the pics? I saw the wonderful Postcard Viewer and Simple Viewer, but they only allow to show the pictures. flickr and pix.ie (for example) are not so interesting for me.

Aperture gallery with these functions would be cool... Anything like that out there?

Can anybody help?

Lightroom has a Flash slideshow feature that you can upload to your server, but I have not gotten it to work yet....after starting, it takes forever, and then doesn't complete.

If you have a web server you can install it on, Gallery is nice ( http://gallery.menalto.com/ ). You can display your photos, people can comment on them. And it can be made private, if you like.

Yes, but unfortunately you can't rate or let somebody comment in these galleries... I think this is a good way for feedback. Isn't there really a flash gallery that can do that?

What about iweb but put the pictures in a blog (or link to a blog) to allow comments?

i use Phanfare, (phanfare.com) it has a very nice presentation, which you can customise. No ratings option but you can write captions.
It's very easy to use (drag & drop) and gives Pro looking results.

Many people that have seen my site were amazed that it wasn't an expensively designed personal site. Not sure how important that is for you and sorry i skipped all the above posts so i'm not really following the thread...

hope this helps in someway

Thanks. Stylish is important, yes. But the best it would be if I could give the watchers the possibility to rate and comment the pictures...

It seems perfect, but it's too much to do for me... So every program hat it's handycap. Why can't an Aperture gallery (or for the competition: a Lightroom gallery) do that?

I use smugmug (skarlatos.smugmug.com) and viewers can comment on and rate photo's if I unlock that functionality.

It's not expensive, something like 39USD and you have virtually no limits on size of pix and quantities, also very easy to use and friendly "helpful" help.

Just my 2 cents.

I think because adding comments from visitors requires a dynamic web page, which requires some sort of database and is quite a bit more complex than HTML web galleries are. It isn't easy to do, especially with any sort of security.

I know just what your looking for and wanting... I've been looking for the same thing for my wedding photography. I want something simple and smoothe for people to go to and pick out their proofs by rating or just selecting... Still no luck for me either. Seems as if there are hundreds of hosting sites or flash slide shows just no way to rank or select???

Ranking and commenting are available on all levels of a smugmug account. It has already been mentioned previously in this thread.

Yes, a simple tool for this (selecting) process would be cool. Especially cool would be a flash gallery...
