Lately, I've seen different comments by the members regarding post processing and sharpness. I only got to play with the post processing software that came with my new computer for a little while before the expanded version trial period ended. I sharpened the picture below and the results follow. Did I sharpen it too much?
Also, does anyone recommend any post processing software over another?
Thanks!

IMO yes, the picture been sharpened too much. Given the two, I prefer the first one. To my eyes it looks more natural. But I myself is not a big fan of PP. I always find PP the pictures look unnatural. IMO, PP can save a badly taken picture, but might make a good picture looks bad if handle wrongly.

top one is better, bottom one is too dark - lost the colors. As for composition, it's too busy, no focal point (IMHO). Nice color variations though. Thank you.

Is the 2nd photo just sharpened, or did you do brightness, contrast, color saturation changes too? If all you did was sharpening, I would be glad the free trial was over & forget it.

I like the first one better, as I see it on my monitor. I also think a little post processing is good, as long as it looks good and is pleasing to the eye.

I think I might have altered the contrast as well. It has been awhile since I did it. It's funny, I originally thought I liked the processed one better; the colors seemed to "pop" more. But after viewing so many P880 pictures, where the colors aren't so bright and blend a little more, I'm beginning to like the more natural look of the 1st as well.

After taking a closer look at the 1st, I see what you mean by the color variations that I lost by the post processing. Thanks for the taking time to comment!
