I see latest news updated only every second week or so nowadays. Did new owners get rid of all the eployees or freelancers or did they just quit ? Must be enough news on the digital market to have a daily update one should guess... :o)

Since they sold the site, the have enough money to take extended vacations.
It's good to be rich.

Since I learned, shooting with film,... I think negative!

Any specific examples of news that we may be missing? if not, I would guess its the lull after the august announcements that we see almost every year

How would we know what we are missing if its not been updated lol

I think they're on Amazon time. On 6 September, I ordered a Fuji 31 from Amazon as a present for my son's birthday, which was yesterday. On the Amazon website it said the camera was in stock and delivery would be 2-4 days so I ordered it from them. Nearly 4 days later, I got an email saying the goods had been despatched from the warehouse and would be with me by 13 September. In Amazon time, seems 2-4 days means 7 days. Needless to say, it didn't arrive by then and I stayed in every day last week to take delivery as I was due to meet up with my son yesterday. The camera arrived 10am this morning. I could have ordered it anywhere else and had it within 2 days. I live in London BTW, not the North Pole.

I've bought an awful lot of stuff from Amazon over the years. I won't be buying from them again.

Let's be fair. For a few days there (40D, D300) there was news every time you logged on. Kodak this, Canon G9 that, Panasonic this, SanDisk that, etc. And, in many cases there was a mini-preview to go along with the news. I was missing a lot in the rest of my life (birth of my child, conversion from oil heat to gas, etc.) because there was so much to read on this site and I couldn't pull myself away. And that wasn't so long ago -- less than a month if I recall correctly.

I always figured when things were quiet it was because there was no news. When there is news, the site is full of it. That's what I'll think until I learn otherwise.

--Lets face it, people on the site are adicted with an insatiable need to learn whats new and if it is any good.
By definition, that means they (we) are incapalle of being satisfied!

Well, the last actual review of what I would call a mainstream camera was way back in July 2007. There are a ton of cameras in queue, but the focus seems to have shifted heavily to the SLR and high-end market as of late.

I am a bit surprised that the latest news is an extensive preview of the D300, a camera not available for at least two months, while there is nothing serious on the 40D which is already available even at my local dealer (and I am just living in a village).

Did Canon step on some toes...?

I like to think of it as giving Phil business advice. If there's not new content, I'm not looking at DPReview, except for the forums (RSS feed means I don't even open up the home page to check for new articles). And if I'm not reading the website, those ads don't get seen/clicked.

Yes, august website news doldrums ;o)
