Got a note that my G9 was shipped today. It looks like it's in stock everywhere now. I got mine from Ritzcamera, which is not particularly cheap, but you get one or two free printers.
 
out of stock at B&H, Adorama, KEH.......not many places have it in stock.

Yes I agree.

Funny that mail order places, being so popular run out quickly and have to restock.

Most of the local camera stores in my area (Northern CA) have them in stock...

Picked one up on Sunday because I didn't want to wait for mail order.

It's bigger, of course, but that also means that the written language and icons are bigger too....much more pleasant to use. I can see it at all angles...bright enough in sunlight. It's better than the G7's.

--Just wondering about photos when there is a crowd as I can use my pro1 above my head as i am short and can see the LCD from above. Most appreciative if you could answer this question.

I can hold the G7 way up high or down low and get a great view. Works well and the G9 would also.

If you don't need RAW or the flash hot shoe and want the more versatle tilt/swivel LCD (and better grip) then the A650 is a better option IMO... Matt

Thanks Russell, that is what I wanted to know as I prefer it to the A650 but at the moment no-one seems to have stock so I saved some money for the moment.
