Do I have a problem?

My son ordered a Canon SD700IS from Broadway photo - with an upgraded battery (although not sure what that's about) - it came to 270.

It arrived the next day and it says IXY 800 on the camera not SD700IS. I remember reading here that they change the names on cameras sold in other countries. I'll assume that's ok - and that there is no change in quality. True? However the canon box it came in says - not to be sold outside of Japan - and there is no warranty if it is sold out of Japan.

Do I have a problem? We are going to call when they reopen on Sunday - but I would appreciate any advice re the company and this general situation.

other than no warranty services from canon in the US, no problem.

i wouldn't worry about that camera is so good nothing ever goes wrong with them

The victims have stated the same problem you are facing, a non US model without an English manual and cheap lowlife batteries. Good luck.......
