Would appreciate links to the store(s) accepting pre orders.

Thanks,

Dennis

That's the cheapest UK price I've seen so far, most are 3,300-3,500...

Interesting, but... still waiting for the high MP sister

Interesting that RGB are discounting an item that is sure to have a huge waitlist

To be honest RGB always have pretty good prices, quite often cheaper than the internet. I'd heartily reccomend them :-) Whenever I buy camera stuff in the UK it's from them. I think the d3/d300 already has quite a list though :(

I've ordered one of each :-D althought im thinking of changing my order to just 2x d3.

Thats really good to hear- but why are they given up 10% margin on a hot item?
I don't see the rationale?

regardless, its far too much for me to spend....but I am spending an unhealthy amount of time researching the D3 !

Damn you :-P

I'm number 2 for the D3 and 3 for the D300! I think they said they had 5 orders when I last went in but I can't remember if that was for the D3 or D300.

I think I'm going to go for 2x D3 instead, that camera just sounds too good :-P 99% of my stuff is shot at iso 1600 or higher, so it should be awesome.

still trying to decide about the 24-70mm, i really want one but i already have the 28-70 and its not that much different :-P

I ordered before the official announcment. The specs were leaked/guessed at about three days before so I went into RGB and preordered a D3.

Lucky you eh! I can only afford the one....The D200 will be back up.

Same here. The extra 4mm will make a very big difference, but I'm expecting the price to be around £1300? The 14-24 is very tempting too!

The 12 mp of the D3 will be perfect for weddings, although I am now looking to upgrade my PC very soon to cope with the larger files. (NX runs quite slowly on my rig......need more speed)

Found a pre-order store at http://www.robertsimaging.com who are taking orders. Seems that my NPS # will do some good as they asked for it. Will update this thread with any reply I get from them.

Dennis -

I thought NPS specifically tells you to NOT give your NPS number to the store?

You only need to tell NPS (online or by fax) the retail outlet you ordered from and then NPS ships it to that outlet and indicates on the shipping invoice that D3 serial #xxxxx belongs to you upon payment to the retail outlet.
