Sanford Camera Repair in Arlington, MA?

I'm about to send my new D80 to Nikon to get some sensor and AA filter related issues fixed. However, I see that Sanford Camera Repair in Arlington, MA is a Nikon authorized repair center and will do warranty work. I'm wondering if anyone in the Boston area has any personal experience with them, as I imagine the turnaround time will be shorter than sending it to Melville, NY and waiting for it to return. The Melville site has had a lens of mine for three weeks and counting.

Nikon stuff: Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200mm VR, Nikkor 50mm 1.8, Tamron 28-75mm 2.8

Other stuff: Olympus SP-550UZ, Fujifilm Finepix E900, Minolta Dimage X, Canon Powershot G1

I've called them but never brought my cameras in. Let me know how the experience goes. I tried a place in Warwick RI and it didn't work out very well so I'm all for the trip to Arlington if the review is good.

I dropped my 28-70 and 18-200 off at Sanford Camera on 8/29 to be adjusted. they told me it was going to be 2-5 weeks to get them done.

I'd be interested in hearing how it works out, both in terms of time and quality of workmanship, as they would be much more convenient for me than sending stuff off to Nikon.

I have not experience with them though I can do with Melville who dose quality work and has great customer service.

Lens repairs are different than camera repairs. In general this is a tough time to need service as summer has lots of camera use and thus more repairs and needed and it’s also vacation time for the people in the service centers as there people just like us.
