ordered my D40 off amazon earlier this week at £317...so with the £60 cash back ...it will bring the price down nicely

Have you checked your cashback submission status online?

I too had been waiting for approx 8 weeks for the payment to appear in my bank account (Nikon suggest it should take about 20 days after receiving copy of the invoice and warranty slips), but nothing materialised.

Then I realised I could view the submission status. Would you believe they have rejected my claim because....

"the invoice supplied is dated prior to the commencement date of the cashback offer"

Absolute rubbish! My invoice is dated 8th June and the offer started on 1st June. The only reason I purchased when I did was because of the promotion.

It also states.....

"you will receive a letter explaining this problem. It may have additional instructions on how to correct this problem"

I have received absolutely nothing and based on the date I submitted my application, I am assuming that my claim was rejected at least six weeks ago.

I phoned Nikon on the 29th August and the person dealing with this promotion wasn't in the office at the time, so somebody else took down the details to pass on. They still haven't phoned me back, so I will be calling them again tomorrow (3rd September).

Poor show Nikon.... I had better get my cashback after I next speak to them!

After I bought the kit, filled the online registration form, but I never sent the copy of the invoice and warranty slips. After 3-4 weeks I got the money in my account.

Queries regarding the application can be made by calling 0870 241 5904.

I would suggest that you only phone in the afternoon, as the person dealing with this promotion apparently doesn't work mornings, otherwise you will have to leave your details like I did, but then never got a call back.

How come they posted a cheque? Nikon states in the terms & conditions that all payments must be made directly into the customers bank account, no other options would be permitted, hence the reason you have to provide your account details when registering online.

That's very odd, they require the invoice etc, before they will process the request.

Seems you have done better than some of us by not following the rules!

I rang nikon today (0870 770 0231) and was told a cheque was posted on 25th July. After telling them I hadn't recieved it they are going to cancel the first cheque and post another.
We'll see.
I can't understand the cheque thing either. Like you sy I gave my bank details.

Well I finally got someone to check my details after being given several different phone numbers for "the department" dealing with the cashback promotion, eventually using the number you quoted (which is the normal Customer Services number).

Again I was asked what date was on my invoice. They have now emailed me, requesting me to scan the invoice and email it back to them (presumably they threw away the copy I sent together with the warranty slips when they rejected my claim).

I'll update this thread when I have further feedback.

Cashback update -

Finally after a couple of phone calls to Nikon Customer Support to raise an incident log, then emailing them another copy of the invoice to confirm the date was within the qualifying promotion period, I have now received the payment into my bank account.

Nikon Support were helpful and prompt with both responses and actions. They quickly resolved the problem for me :-)

I think the problems I had were all down to the agency handling the cashback promotion :-(
