I'm practicing with the formidable (and GPL'd) Pano Tools and recently photgraphed some scenes around town with the the DC4800 and a sturdy, mudproof tripod.

is under a nearby waterfall.

is at the Tennessee River.

They are relatively low resolution to avoid painful downloads. I was amazed at the ability of the Pano Tools software to stitch the pictures (18 to 36 of 'em!) even with the distortion introduced by the Tiffen .75x converter on the DC4800. While PT is not the most user-friendly program of its type, it seems to do a superior job to the commercial packages I have tried.

Nice images. I also use PanoTools sometimes but before I do, I usually give Photovista a crack at the images. Often, PV does a perfect (or near perfect) job with absolutely minimal fuss & bother. I reserve the pain of Panotools for the tough cases ;)

I have done something similer with Panarama maker by Arcsoft
that I found on my kodak dc4800 cd. Lots of fun. I am going
to have a play with the pano tools now

cheers
