Olympus US Website Not Up?

I just tried the site and it came up. And I was looking at it yesterday with no problem.

Ok, thank you very much. I must have screwed up some setting on my computer security software. I can access any other site, but the Olympus one gets an error message regardless of which browser I use. I apologize for the false alert -- I didn't have access to another computer to check. Thank you all very much.

. . .which is odd because the new Sensor and Engine were/are in the 510/410 right?

Unless there is a newer sensor and engine they are talking about.

Sometimes that helps. Also, what browser do you use? I use Firefox, but sometimes I have to use Explorer for some sites.

Yes, I tried that. It is really strange. I cannot access olympusamerica.com using Explorer, Opera, or Mozilla. It is only that site -- I can access any other site. I turned off Norton Internet Security to see whether that is the problem, but it was the same result. I am therefore assuming that I somehow changed a Windows XP setting, but I have no idea how. I tried to restore my computer to an earlier point, but that also did not help. I am kind of out of ideas. Really weird. Thanks.

If it's any consolation, I can't get on olympusamerica.com or olympus.com either.

I tried both FireFox and IE7. I'm running Vista.

Every other site seems to work fine for me.

My internet provider is cableone.net. What's yours?

Mine is Qwest DSL. I am running XP Professional. It is strange b/c I accessed last week to download their software to upgrade the firmware on my E-510. But when I tried to access it this week to actually do the firmware update, the site seems blocked. As I mentioned, I tried it in Opera, Firefox and IE, so I am assuming it's some change in an XP setting or something?

Hmmmm. I updated the firmware on my 510 last week, too.

I used the Olympus Master software.

Very odd.

Delphi99: Thank you for letting me know that you have the same problem. Just to look for some possible commonalities, I downloaded the Master software late last week. I started to run it but when it asked for me to register, I deferred registration b/c I did not have my camera with me and did not have the necessary information. Later in the weekend at home I tried to get online to register and do the firmware upgrade. But, as we have discussed, I could not access olympusamerica.com or olympus.com (although I can seem to access the olympus Europe site). As a last resort, I deleted the Olympus Master software thinking that might be the problem. It did not help either. Thanks.

Thank you for the suggestion. I looked in that file but did not see anything that would seem to be the cause. It is very strange b/c it's just those two sites (olympusamerica and olympus.com). I can access all other Olympus sites and all other web sites. Thanks.

Delphi99: Someone on a Windows forum assisted me. He gave a very long list of suggestions, but the one that seemed to work was to go to "Internet Options" in the control panel, click on the "Advanced" tab, and uncheck the box that says "enable third party browser extensions." Doing this allowed me to access both sites that I could not before. I am not sure what other (potentially negative) effects this might have, but I will let you know when I find out. Thanks again to everyone for their suggestions and help.
