could use a little sharpening etc.

I really enjoyed, felt like I was there, well busy day tommorrow, ball games and get my new puppy.

Stand by for pics. --DomDP-NJC-2100UZPbase Supporter http://www.pbase.com/domdp 'Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are.' --Malcom Forbes

PhiltheOar,

I like the subject of the first shot. Love the color and clarity. Same with the second and the third. I think the duck may be out of focus, but I am new to all of this so no advice on what do do to fix or shoot different.
I really like the first shot!

Will try sharpening on the duck Dom - Thanks.

Looking forward to seeing the new puppy.

Appreciate the comments Kim. Maybe I should try a large print of some of these to see how they do.

Both you and Dom had the same comments about the duck. I probably should have shifted to spot focus. Maybe sharpening will help a litttle.

I like the framing on all of these. You realy did a nice job. As for post processing, I tend to like my pictures a little more saturated than these. I don't like the way PS does saturation so I do it a little different. If you like the effect, let me know. If you don't, it's all a matter of taste, and I won't be offended.

I really like this one.

I probably over did it a little on this one but,...

Any thoughts about improving these images. Either when I shot them
or post processing - they are right out of the camera with no
editing yet.

For the first picture you may want to read through this thread.
http://www.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1008&message=2388137

The technique really works well on pictures that are just a tad over exposed and a little under saturated.

For the second, I used the same technique, but I also added an additional layer. This additional layer was the original pic adjusted with auto levels. Then I blended this layer into the result of the first step using color dodge (I think). I flattened the image and selected the sky. I then used the PS saturation tool to give you more blue in the sky. If you don't have PS, you can still do it, but I wouldn't be able to walk you through it. Clear as Mud?

I don't have a lot to offer, but what little I do have to offer is always free. I'll probably not be around much on dpreview next week as I have an extensive protype build I have to oversee. If you have a question, please, feel free to email me. If I don't have the answer, I can always make one up;-)

P.S. From someone whose uncle was a very recent victim of Myeloma, I offer a thanks to you and your collegues for pushing the treatment forward. He lasted 2 happy years longer than expected.

We have connected before on this forum and it is always amazing to me how closely we are all connected. That you have an uncle who had myeloma - a rare tumor - is more than a little coincidence.

Thanks for your offer to help. I will probably write in a week or so.

Thanks
