I still use GIMP as my primary way of editing photos. For renderings, I tend to go to CS2, but I also do GIMP only renderings as well. Don't know why other's despise the GUI, but I actually like it much better then PS (guess I'm on the geek side). I also like the ability of GIMP to execute things in parallel (run a filter on one layer and duplicate it simulaneously and changing the layer property while the filter is still running (yes, my computer is sloooow; lol).

It's what ever your used to if you ask me. I started out with gimp before using PS and I prefer Gimp. My good friend does PP professionally for Tigi. He started out with Gimp as well and prefers its UI. However, he works exclusively in PS now.
