eBay scam, or just poor posting??

This is essentially the same response I got. Bank wire for
$6000-yeah right!!! I like the feedback comment-didn't this person
only have buying feedback??

I just checked her feedback and 98% of it says "fast payment" which indicates she is a buyer not a seller!!!!!

I heard back from the buyer on both auctions, same guy. He heard from eBay after he won the first one, before he paid any money. They were suspicious and told him what to do to prove fraud. Then they asked him to bid on and do the same thing for the other auction. Both were scams, stolen ID's, probably the same crook on both.

I also heard back from the seller on the second auction (for the 1200 lens) before it ended this is what he (or she) said:

Hi,
This product is brand new and comes complete with all
manufacturer supplied accessories(Crystal optics
multicoated UV filter, rubber lens hood, lens cleaning
kit, cap keeper). Original Manufacturers USA warranty
is included(3 YEAR). I'm the original owner. I accept
bank wire. Item will be shipped upon receipt of
payment. Total amount is including shipping cost.
Regards,
Karina.

The address is [email protected] I had asked for photos but obviously he did not send or offer any. I wonder what he will sell this lens to you for now? (LOL)
Saw this on eBAY and seems a little "off" to me. There is nothing
"personal" in the auction data. Seller refers to other payment but
nothing in description. There last 6 months history is as a buyer,
and they bought inexpensive stuff. On the other hand, they have had
the "name" for about 3 years. Also talks about being in US but will
ship TO USA. Scam or novice seller? Here is link

See my last post below. This is almost the same reply I got back from another similar scam auction for another lens.

Even signed by Karina. But the sellers showed to be different. Both turned out to be scams, the same person with 2 stolen ID's. I talked to the buyer. The email address she gave me was [email protected] What email address did she use on you?
Terms of sale? Condition of lens? Pictures of YOUR
lens? These are important things to have left out of a
multithousand-dollar auction.

Sorry, guy! I don't have another pics. I understand
you. But you may read my feedback regarding my selling
for auction items. This product is brand new and comes
complete with all manufacturer supplied
accessories(Crystal optics multicoated UV filter,
rubber lens hood, lens cleaning kit, cap keeper).
Original Manufacturers USA warranty is included(3
YEAR). I'm the original owner. I accept bank wire. Item

is including shipping cost.

Karina."

I love my D30, but I've ordered a D60!

Someone actually considers shelling out a few thousand dollars over ebay? Then they deserves what they gets :)

Thanks for contributing this well thought out comment. I'm sure it will add some good information to this thread.

I sold my EOS-3 + PB-E2 on Ebay for $1100.

I just sold my D-30 with grip, extra batteries, CF cards, 24-85 on Ebay for $2,000.

Both buyers were extremely happy to get them.

No, they weren't stupid enough to send me the money without doing a little checking on me.

Actually, both buyers ended up taking delivery from me personally. The last purchaser drove 3 hrs today down to where I live to pick it up and hand over the remaining $1,000 he owed me.
