If it is a tree, a valley, a sax and now a man, the perfect light
and composition are always there. Really great shot Larry (again)
and I love the chair of the man it makes it funny to and he sits
there like a real fisherman, patient as a man can be. I begin to
think that fishing is a variation of Zen or yoga. Larry as I see
the light in your pictures and those of Hugh and other people in
the US, I think I will move to the States, first a bit training on
this forum to learn English and then hops move... It's like this
guy looks so real as possible, I can look at this picture for a
long time. Superb Larry.

With kind regards,

Hey!........Larry.
Good capture,mate.
Even without his rods and the river you can still see that this guy
is fishing, as being a keen fisherman myself,I recognise
that"stance"so well.
Such a natural shot.....Enjoyed it......Thanks......:)
Have a good one.

Hi Stan, Yes it was very hard light. Later in the afternoon I had another shot with even harsher light which came out quite well. I was very surprised. The 300mm does really fine work in these conditions. Thanks so much for your kind words again Stan.

Larry
This shot looks like it is taken in high contrast lighting. I think
you did a great job of capturing this guy and providing lots of
detail in his face despite the fact that he was shaded by his hat
from the bright sun. There seems to be no aspect of photograhy that
is beyond your mastery.

Hi Jody, Thanks so much! and good to hear from you. It was interesting how the 300mm handled this type of light. I was very pleased.

Hi Larry,
What a wonderful shot.... the lighting I think is great. This must
have been a tough shot to get.. but of course you did it well.

Jody

Hi AC, Sure do appreciate the comments, I do hope to sit on a empty bucket most likely a lawn chair though and just sit and look. Your welcome for the trip and hope to seeing more of your great works.

Larry,

Fishing: a fine activity. And I must say, this is a very fine
picture of a fisherman. It looks as if he's taking a break from
fishing, though, just enjoying his creek and the beautiful day.
Your photo has carried me away, and now I am enjoying the creek and
the day, too.

Thanks for the trip, Larry.

With respect,

Hi ikzook, I have to give the credit here to the lens. Seems to handle very contrasty light well. Thanks so much for taking the time to view.

Larry,

This a wonderful picture. First the light is outstanding. The
play of shadows on the subject add depth. The overalls with a
cream colored shirt is a pleasing color scheme. The detail in the
clothing is excellent. What a fun picture - sitting in the sun and
enjoying life.

Well shot
John

Hi Suzn, ahhh sorry for keeping you up! But I'm sure glad you did see it. I to take photos of people who have lots of wear and tear....Their presence just seem to tell a story. Thanks so much!

Hi Larry,

I really best be going to sleep but couldn't help but to comment on
this one.

This is a wonderfully dreamy candid. By dreamy I mean that it
really made me get a bit lost in another world. It is technically a
really good photo but also I love what you saw and chose to share.

This man looks like someone who has a wonderful repertoire of
stories to tell. He may live a very simple life, I like how he's
sitting on the bucket and he looks like someone who has learned how
to relax and appreciate the world around him.

Thanks for sharing, I envy that guy. :-)

Hi Larry,

Now there's a great candid / human interest shot. The exposure is
great.

Hi gregg, Thanks for your insight, I truely believe there is a photo in all that is around us....it is just a matter of what angle you look at it and how the light plays off your subjects. It also helps on what type of lens you want to render your angle.... like how much DOF you want the view to have and such things as optic quality. I hope everybody would take the time just to look around where they are and find an image that triggers their imagination. Thanks so much for you to take the time to write to me. I sure do appreciate your words.

Hi LMC,
I have seen two of your shots. Both are stunningly well done.
Profoundly affecting me. So much so that I felt that I could no
longer take a picture. In fact, it inspired my cynical post about
springs in the air. But I read the rest of your thread, thank god.
You said something so important- about watching. I tried for years
to get just the shot that you took so well- Impressionism. Thank
you for posting your thoughts. Now I know that this isn't a
competition, but a celebration of the visions we are allowed to
see, and if lucky, capture.
Admiringly yours,
Gregg Kuljian

Hi Michel, Thanks for pointing out the B&W....I do love B&W better on any shots but I'm still studying color and hopefully one day go back to doing B&W. Thanks so much.

Larry
Fabulous, absolutely fabulous!

Did you try to convert it to B/W? Should look great too.
