All with the D2X and the Zeiss 100mm/2 Makro Planar.

Images are shot in raw, and my usual pp workflow. Other then resizing no sharpening applied (0 in camera)

All shot @ F/2 ISO:400

Hi Paul,

great shots. How long have you had this lens? Do you prefer this one to the 50mm ZF?

Rob

Great shots Paul ! I particularly love the 1st one the way it crisply picks up berries in various parts of the plant instead of confining it to one berry with a narrow dof.

Thanx.

Well if i was forced to chose i would probebly stick with the 100mm/2, just because its better suited for portraits.

But they are both superb imo, and one should only pick one of the other based on preferd focal length.

Hi Paul,

Nice work again from you. Particularly like the 2nd one. What time did you take this picture? The 1st picture, if you can trim a bit of the front stems, it would be even better. :)

Among of all the ZF lenses, IMO, 100 f/2 is the best, then followed by 50 f/2. The rest are excellent but not as outstanding as these two lenses. I'm still struggling whether to get the 85 and 35 or not, though I think seldom use these.

Thanx! Time where around 7:30 pm.

Well the 100mm/2 is extremely easy to nail the focus with, and together with the 50mm/2 they really are razor sharp wideopen. But they all share the same rendering and thats what i really like about them.

I wouldnt want to be without any of them.

If you get the 85mm/1,4 ZF be aware of that nailing focus with it is very hard (especially for moving targets) and it does have a longer minium focus distance then the Nikkor.

Upclose @ F/1,4-F/1,8 the Zeiss etheral glow really shows, thus making the images appear less sharp.Offcourse this can be very useful for femal subjects at times.

A little distance and it appears as sharp as the nikkor. From F/2,8 it pulls ahead. (imo)

Great photos Paul,

There is something in those Zeiss render that keep me up all these nights looking on the internet for more samples. I'm not on the car forums and not really care about the new cameras release these few days ... all I want is a manual Zeiss ZF.

Thanks Paul and others for all the advices on the Zeiss .... I just placed my order on the Zeiss 50 f2 and some filters at B&H... should be getting them end of the week.

I think the Zeiss 35 f2 is next if I cans take great pictures like yours.

Your shots are great, love the bokeh. I waited with getting another
one, since I had some play time with a Noct, but I might still get
the ZF100 again and keep it this time.
Thanx Nightmedia.

Yea its a keeper for at least.

Best of luck when you acquire a new one.
