17-40 f4 On 1.6 Crop Camera

Okay, I set my 17-40 on 24 and shot different subjects.

For landscapes and getting the whole room, slightly tight for room, couldn't get all the landscape in. But 17 is tight sometimes too. For people, my main subject, worked fine.

Then took my 50 1.4 and set it to 2.8 and shot around indoors. Better, but not 1.4.

The 17-55 2.8 IS would fit the bill, but it doesn't fit my upgrade path to FF. I have alot more shooting and expiermenting to do before I drop a grand on a lens.

Off Topic but related: I posted earlier today not having seen your thread about portraits with the 17-40.

Is it possible for you to post some examples?

Would love to see the results because i may get such a lens in a short while.

Thanks in advance.

Taking photos is too much fun!!!

Photographing people, not portrait photography. On the 40 end, which is 64 on a crop, okay.

Like it more for including entire body and background while standing 3 feet from someone.

If you go to PhotoSig you can browse pictures by lens and camera, amoung other things.
