Last night, we had a fire in town. Currently I am using a friend of mines D-50. I am using the Nikon 28-80mm lens. I do own Photoshop for our webdesign business, but, I do not normally use the program. Most of the photos came out dark, it is very obvious I need to buy a larger flash if I am going to take these types of photos at night.

I would like to try and lighten these photos up some. Obviously, these are photos that can never be recaptured again. Any help as to what I should have done different would be greatly appreciated. I have resized these, I do have the originals, it seems when I resized them, they have gotten even darker. Edited to post all pics instead of linking them.

Thanks again for your input,
JR

Thanks for the tips. I found the default setting was a good place to start. With a little tweaking it produced what I thought was a better picture. I have actually added some photos that I thought there was nothing at all I could do anything with.

Thanks again,
JR

Thanks for your comments and criticisms.

1. Nice captures.

2. I hope no one got hurt; and that they had plenty of insurance.

And, still very nice captures, on your part and under the circumstances.

Old house that was moved to this location. Fire Marshall believed it was set on fire. No one lived in it, there was no electric or water to the house.

I love Fire :))))))

Zoom or get closer in to windows buring for a cool effect. Try longer expsures (if you have a mono or tri w/ u) to get some really cool effects :)

If I buy this camera, I will be buying a lens for it. Have been looking at a few and I have not made up my mind as of yet.

Thanks,
