What's the most horrible thing you've snapped so far?

I stood nearby a marshall/corner worker's station when two race cars lost control and steered straight into an armco barrier. Unfortunately a corner worker stood leaning against the barrier, looking the other way, as the cars crashed into it at very high speed, moving the barrier five feet and throwing the marshall 15 feet through the air and to the ground. He sustained multiple internal injuries, broken bones in his legs, arms, ribs and pelvis and quite horrible looking injuries to his hands and arms where skin and flesh was peeled back. I looked through my long lens mostly to see how he was doing and squeezed off a few pictures by instinct. Zooming in I felt quite ill when looking at them. I told a reporter/vulture that showed up 15 minutes later just because he heard of the helicopter rescue that I didn't have any pictures, which other photographers also chose to do. I later deleted the pictures as I didn't want them published anywhere, I had no use for them or any wish to have them on my PC. Myself and the other photographers later received thanks from the organizers and race control on behalf of the injured person for showing restraint and not giving up any grisly pictures to the newspaper. Happily the marshall is on the way to recovery but it has taken a long time.

I was shooting pictures at the annual bridge day event where hundreds of base jumpers leap from the New River Gorge bridge. One guy's chute did not open in time and he landed in shallow water at very high speed. I caught the instant he hit as well as several shots on the way down. My first inclination was to delete them when I heard that he had died, but they turned out to be useful for the investigators in determining what went wrong.

Two seconds before impact, 200 feet above the water and the main chute is not out. The pilot chute cord is tangled on something, not pulling straight out from the back of the pack. It may be hooked under his arm. The main chute finally opened right before impact.

OUCH.
