Random CP 885 question.

Hi,

Just wondering. When looking into the lens of my 885, turned off, part of the shutter mechanism looks much darker than the rest. Almost like part of the shutter is missing. It is the top part of the what I think is the shutter, beyond the glass of the lens, actually inside the camera.

I am only asking because I dropped the camera from about 4ft the other day...ouch! pictures are coming out ok though.

Just wondering if everybody's camera looked like this or if I might have damaged something.

ps. Anyone know of a good picture hosting site that will allow me to link and show photos in dpreview? I don't think yahoo will let me..

Nothing is odd with the shutter

I got 2 different cp885 and both have the shuuter like yours (with a strange darker part).
The only difference I noticed between my 2 cp885 was the origin:
the 1st (deffective) was made in Korea
the 2nd is made in Japan

So it seems my coolpix survived a fall from about 4ft onto concrete with only a tiny scratch, I'm impressed. As for the origin of my camera, its japan too. I wonder if there are real differences between where our cameras are made.
