Anyone else looking forward to the DA* 300mm?

My Sigma 100-300 f4 works pretty well, and the zoom feature is handy. When Pentax makes a HSM 300 2.8, I'm all over it.

A 400/4 will be the ultimate hand-holdable lens for the APS format
helped by the image stabilization. Dedicated converters will make the
package perfect. It will also be (semi) affordable and cheaper than a
300/2.8 that are often used with a 1,4X converter anyway.
Cheaper? It would be about the same size (a little longer).
Yes, the big element could be some 7mm smaller, but they would probably
use the same size anyway. In which case, it could be a little faster than F4.
Perhaps F3.7 or so.

cheers!
