Soccer or as it know internationally...Football

I shot a large soccer tournament yesterday here are some of those
captures. All with the d2X and the 300 2.8 with 1.4 tele
Amazing captures.....Great...Nice Bokeh...and exposure....I admired them.....One thing I noticed from EXIF that max Aperture is f4. I believe you used 300mm f4....with TC1.4....

Are you telling the OP which lens he used?

A better guess would be that exif takes the TC into account and he really was using a 300 f/2.8. This is also why the exif says he was shooting at 420mm.

A 300 f/2.8 with a 1.4 TC is a 420 f/4.0.

If he had been shooting with a 300 f/4 the exif would have read 420mm @ f/5.6.

Hi Great pics.

To others, why is it that not many people post photographs of American Football on here? Do highschool kids still play this game on a Friday night or is it considered too dangerous these days?

You probably missed the last line of Mike where he clearly mentioned that he was using a 300/2.8 with 1.4x TC. Why would you think otherwise?

Speed is significant and interesting but accuracy is downright fascinating

Those are some very nice shots. Football seems to be gathering in popularity in the US, or is it just a perception?

I think it would be good to have a strong US team in the world of football, as long as you don't try to foist a game of 4 quarters on us with timeouts ;-)

... will cost you 2600 USD at BH. Good glass, particularly Nikkor 300 2.8's, hold their value well, so you're going to have to shell out at least 2-3 grand for one in mint condition.
