This is the sunset I saw tonight. Most of the day had been dim with thick clouds. While driving around, I finally saw the clouds begin to glow. I drove over to a place I knew would not have any trees in the way - a bridge over I-70. I stopped briefly since traffic was behind me, rolled down the window, aimed the camera directly into the sun which I could see as a white disc, then drove off. When I processed this image, I noticed the power lines but decided not to clone them out. They seem to be supporting the sun so that it doesn't roll onto the highway.

I like big balls of sun when they set (or rise). This is a great view. You should be proud. Did you take multiple shots of this?

I'm glad you were able to get this from your car Colleen, I've actually tried to do some things from out in the road and that is kind of crazy. This is glorious I really like it. The color cast the setting sun has put on the roadway and the cars is wonderful and that hot ball of fire sunset (not centered) is perfect. Those power lines don't bother me in the least, like you said they seem like tethers for the setting sun. This is one great shot and worth the effort and "risk".

Constructive criticism is welcome regarding any aspect of my images including PP, but leave the actual PP work to me...

C&C always welcome. PP and repost OK.

Great shot with great colors and for a nice change instead of a peaceful landscape a roadscape with some action on it.
