And if you buy it by 3rd August you will get Capture NX for free. If you were going to buy NX anyway (worth £115) then it takes the net cost of the D200 down to about £640 - that is pretty good!

I dont think its the end of the D200 yet, BUT as we all know i dont think a replacement is far away.

It may be a way of clearing stock.

I think theres still at least 12 months left in the D200 though, and it will be red hot on the 2nd hand market for years to come.

ta; for info I'm waiting for the lens announcements from N & C before deciding on whether to buy a few semi pro/pro lens from Nikon or expand into Canon, e.g., 6d + 24-105 f4 l is + 70-200 f4 l is + 300 afs f4 l is + 17-40 f4 l is/16-35 f2.8 l.

Rumours are that the D200 may be discounted eventually to be replaced by 12-13 mp D200x with new Sony Cmos chip along with the Sony semi pro announcement A10 due to be announced in August. Also the 40d is rumoured to be announced also in August with 3" lcd, live view, anti dust cleaning, 5d AF, 12-13 mp but same old'so body that Canon has used since 10d.

We will see however my interests lie in any decent lenses from N / C.
