(R) All B&W Contest Info. Here NOW!

Since I forgot to mention it in the rules because I am basically an idiot who is pretending to be from this planet ... I need to give some guidelines on SIZE for contest submissions. It is preferred that pictures be 800x600. It is not mandatory but it is preferred. Voters can choose to ignore people who are space hogs if they so choose. I apologize for not thinking of this when the rules were posted. I don't deserve to live and will punish myself accordingly. I ask that forumites line up to spank me. No Bob ...--Ergo ((R) in SUBJECT means I care about Richard-Join Me?)Spend so much time improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others. c3000z, c2100uz, some crayons and a Hoover. Ergo, I can see you drooling. It doesn't sound like you really consider spanking as much of a punishment! (Especially not if it came from KK ;-)

Not to diminish your hopes for this, but considering what a fine job you have done in setting up this contest, I hardly think we can find fault with you for omitting a preferred size (of photo). I bet it was just that about th time you were going to add that particular rule, the "Mist" hit you!--Mary

OK, two things...pbase is not showing some photos, not even red x's...

And also there is a photo that was uploaded to the portraits section that does not show by the name of "it's a hippos mouth" that was taken with a Fuji S1 without an owners name attached...

Nothing against Mr Fuji but isn't this contest for Olympic digicams only?

Bob

There are several photos posted with no indication of who is the actual poster. There are also some replies in the other Contest thread by folks who say they've posted, but when you look at their profiles, they have never posted in this forum and do not appear to be using Oly digital cameras.

Can we add another rule requiring an indication of the camera used for the submission? And maybe ask Inigo to remove those not properly labeled (or maybe shift them to a "Mislabeled or Questionnable" folder).

pBase definitely seems screwed up today (as usual).

I'm counting on my Amigo Inigo to dump the non-olys and to fix the technical stuff. If I have to be punished ... I have to be punished ... even if it is by KK. I have been a bad boy.

Yes, the weather has made it quite Misty around here. I think that I am also responsible for that and probably need to be spanked for that also. Where is KK today ... on an unrelated topic ... of course.

Ones that are not posted without names will be removed after the owners have time to read the rules and correct the problems

I don't want to add or change rules or complicate things. If we require specific model of camera used, we know what will happen.

Obviously I'm doing something wrong. I can't get my picture to upload. Would somebody pretty please help me out ?

Ginger ,

I just had trouble as well. I went to the contest gallery and had to go under "logout". Then it will allow you to "log in". User: olyfc
Password: olympus

I was able to upload my photo, but I cannot see it. It was this way las night as well. You can see the first 2 rows of entries under the portraits gallery, but then nothing. I tried to view the same photo in my gallery and could not. It must be something with Pbase. We may have to contact Inigo on this.

Don't worry, if you cannot post it into the correct gallery, Inigo will help, just make sure your name is included.

I couldn't get into the site to upload my entry.

It is a portrait of my canadian cousins who came a'visiting

Would someone who could get in enter it for me?

I took it this morning with my UZI reduced it, made a change to monocrome and added a kodak 82B filter with Mediachance software--George, K2EWL http://wwwbg.tripod.com D-360L,C3000Z,C2100UZ, 2 crummy vivitars and a whole bunch of antique film exposing machines

I don't think we need to restrict to a specific model, but in the "Oly Forum", restricting to that brand seems to make sense? Otherwise, why not open it up to scans from Oly film cameras as well?

Personally I'd rather see it limited to Oly digicams, as the discussions that would follow w/repect to the entries would then be fairly on topic as well vs a detailed thread on how the negatives from a Nikon were scanned with a Minolta film scanner etc. That's an extreme example, but an image from a Fuji is probably equally as "off topic"?

You are right on the money Inigo ... the rules say Olympus Digital. That is it! People need to take the time to read the rules. I also did the rules in B&W to match up with the contest.--Ergo ((R) in SUBJECT means I care about Richard-Join Me?)Spend so much time improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others. c3000z, c2100uz, some crayons and a Hoover. I've placed it in the "Other" category.

I interpret the contest definition of:

"People Or Maybe Even Sheep Or Your Mother In Law"

to basically mean people. It can easily be moved later.

Thank You,
I tried a dozen times and it kept rejecting the password.

When I took the picture it was almost black and white so it didn't change much..
