Canada: Mark III New Firmware Available

Just dropped my Mark III off at Canon Canada to have the firmware update installed, they said it addresses:

1) AI Servo issues
2) Sharpness of LCD
3) Asian Lang updates

After installing a few checks are made, so you have to leave the camera with them.

Should have it back in a couple days at most.

It great they seem to have delivered the update to a number of service centers in different places at the same time.

Did you take your MKIII to the Mississauga CPS office? I have been having troubles with the MKIII & EX580 II. Erratic & inconsistent Exposure issues. Having to adjust up to 3 stops and still over exposes. Virtually every shot changes no consistency what so ever. The next time you use it, it can be fine a complete nightmare to work with. Do you think they have addressed this with the update I know one or two other posters have had the exact same issue.

Any indication if they're shipping any? I don't think Canon Canada have released any product since the first batch late May.

I've been waiting for an update before going to buy one. I hope surely hope that they are shipping ALL of the cameras now with this firmware update. I'd hate to get it only to have it serviced immediately after. Keep my fingers crossed.

Have you noticed any difference in your body after the new firmware?

(where is the service centre?)

I just got my body today and its serial # 526* and the firmware is 1.0.8... Also I noticed a code of OV0702 stamped inside my battery compartment if that means anything.
