I got my D60 about four hours ago. I think mine was the first sold in Finland. The camera came with one battery, charger, cables and neckstrap. Somehow the software and manual were missing and I'll get them in a week. My old D30 software isn´t working with the D60 so I have to use a card-reader and shot only jpegs amd open them up in PS6. My first impression is that the AF is really better although it still hunts in very low light. I mean really low! The red focus point helps a lot and the first shots with 400 iso showed very little noise. 100 iso was looking very sharp and detailed and I can hardly wait to see the raw files.

Hope you all get yours very soon!

You'd better get some samples up rather soon or I fear people will come knocking at your door...

Great! You are the first "consumer" to report getting your hands on one.
Maybe we should give you a plaque!

Congratulations Mikael!

Can you please tell us where you bought it and at what price? This is exciting because the "rest of the world" is still waiting for the production models and according to many posters the waiting time is two weeks or more.

If you happen to have a 550 or 420 speedlite flash, try setting Custom Function 5 to setting 3, which should cause the flash to emit it's red AF-assist light without firing the flash, and see if you can get low-light shots to focus that way. Probabably have to use ISO 1000 and a fast lens but this would be a very good test.

Just out of curiosity, what is the serial number?

I might be interesting to see where/how the first D60's were distributed around the world.

Thanks.
The one that Jaja is evaluating has 4.6.0. Very curious the difference...

Would you please post some sample photos? Yours is the 1st known production unit. Every of us is so eager to see how it works ...Thanks.

Hi Mikael

I know this is a lot to ask but please post a lot of pictures like high iso to see noise and so. Remember to write which lenses and so on...just if you have the time...I really wish I was in Finland right now!
By the way congratulations. I hope you get the software and manual fast.

Regards,
Anders

Maybe Canon has a different firmware numbering scheme for pre-production cameras and the first production cameras will (always?) have a firmware numbering starting from "one".
