they are a little ragged. Some people think they are pretty flowers, I view them as weeds with blooms... :-)
 
I have no idea what this flower is. I ride by them every day on the way to work. Just had to grab the 510 with the 14-42 kit lens and catch a couple of shots. They're beautiful when the sun's out.

I just find it to hot to go out and shoot. Even if I were to go out at 5 AM it's already 90F. We're half way to tieing the record for the number of days 110 or higher. With this heat, rose bushes if they are producing any buds they are very tiny. I've showed you all the vinca and other flowers in my backyard so I'm kinda tapped out. If I do come across an interesting flower to shoot it will be posted here. Fall and winter are great for shooting flowers here. What are summer annunals (pansies,petunias) in the rest of the US are winter annuals here and.... there will be roses to die for.

That very pretty flower would be a hibiscus. Very nice shot of it.
