Olympus case and lens armor?

I've got my 3030, and I love it. I'm now accessorizing. My CLA1 and filters are on the way. I am curious, though, about this configuration (camera with lens armor) fitting in the Olympus case that everyone seems to like. Am I going to be removing my lens armor every time I put the camera in the case, or will it all fit?

Won't fit. People seem to prefer any of several small gadget bags from
Tamrac as an alternative. Search this forum for Tamrac.

Won't fit. People seem to prefer any of several small gadget bags from
Tamrac as an alternative. Search this forum for Tamrac.

Won't fit. No way. But I wouldn't trade the case for all the lens armor in Cuba. At least the lens barrel itself has some shading from stray light. A bare filter out front with no shade is really asking for degraded images. I consider CLA-1 needs to be the exception, not the rule.

My 2020z w/ lens armor fits great in the Tamrac Digital 6 bag w/ enough room for other accessories, yet still quite compact. I love the bag and its a perfect fit.

I have tried several Tamrac bags and I feel that the 5400 is the best one.

The Tamrac 600R (Expo Jr.) is the best fit and has the most protection (IMHO) for the configuration you're using.

Does this fit without taking the lens armor
off? The inside bag dimensions are:
6 x 5 x 2.5 inches
Do you place the camera with the lens
facing up or down?

I'm looking for a bag for the 3030 with
lens armor that I can leave on in the bag.

If you are interested in a case that will just fit the camera & a spare set of batteries tossed in the bottom, then look at the Vanguard Cortina 8, which is even smaller than the Tamrac 600R, at 3-1/2W x 2-1/2D x 5-1/2H:
