I recall seeing that there is some way to "mark" or "select" random images on the CP950 so that then you can go back and say "delete selected" and they all go away. Darned if I can find this in the book however or figure it out by browsing the menus. Anyone who can give me instructions on how to "mark for death" these unwanted shots so I don't have to delete them one at a time?

Thanks...

Hi Rick

In Play back mode use the four way selector to go left or right to select desired image, then press the selector up or down to select "image for deletion", a trash can icon will be tagged to the image, then repeat to mark further images. When done press the QUAL button to comfirm and delete. Hope this helps!

I think he wants to know about the 950, not the 990.

On the 950, go to Play mode, pick delete, selective. Use the Qual button to pick the pictures to delete. Lets you selectively delete more than one picture at once.

Here's a tip...

If you want to delete most of your pictures and keep just a few, you can save a little time by doing the inverse procedure: "protect" the few pictures you want to keep, then "DELETE--ALL," which will delete all the unprotected pictures.

Protecting pictures is similar to the selective delete procedure. In the Play mode menu, select PROTECT, and use the magnifying glass button to mark the pictures for protection. Press the shutter button when you're done.

After the delete, do the exact same procedure to unprotect the pictures.

Yup...the 950, not the 990. Thanks Bryan. Just the ticket!
