Kodak have a new dcs camera, the DCS 620X.

This new 620 camera have a new revolutionaire ccd and low noise electronica with a very good
spectral responce.
This camera can be used from 400 iso till 4000 iso.

The color balance is also more saturated. This camera is build special for photojournalist and
sportphotographers.

Neil,

This info comes from kodak .

Kodak who where what when... and if it is $5,000 I may have to commit suicide.

I find it hard to believe, as an inside guy at Kodak had a chat with me and I asked if something was coming or should I buy a D1 ???? He intimated to buy the D1, altho he felt Kodak's image quality was better, but no new box coming.

Jelly Fish, I'm sure your post was extremely well thought out and even quite interesting, but I'm afraid that the code in which you wrote leaves me
wondering what it was that you actually said. A translation would be appreciated

Can you imagine, just a week ago, someone criticized this forum for being
too juvenile!

trailer trash peeps get really hot and bothered when you
reveal their low-life upbringing for all the world to see, that
is why i go out of my do it. hehe! me likes!

anyways, i favorite stock shot up like a rocket yesterday, so
i will be busy at the local camera shop adding a prime lens to
my collection. maybe i'll have more time later today to get
mrs. frances all hot and bothered once more. (we can only hope!)

frances=trailer trash

don't bother trying to understand what i said. all you
really need to know is this:

mrs. frances=trailer trash

repeat three times and call me in the morning.

Hey just check the profile of this guy. For whatever reason he has decided to hide behind this moniker. What childish chatter/behavior.

This new camera was confirmed to me today by one of Kodak's top professional dealers...iso up to 6400!

The dealer stated:
"It will sell for around $8900, while the regular 620 dropped
to a selling price of $7495. If you check Kodak's site on Monday, they will
probably have the specs up on the new 620."

i asked him, but not heard yet, if the camera has a different chip, more resolution.

Wow...might be a response to the d1...then again might not...definitely more expensive, double the price, but image quality might be something worth it.

I have known about this camera for over a month but was unable to publish any information. Luckily it now appears to be public knowledge...

I can confirm that it is indeed a new chip, based on the chip in the 620 but instead of an RGBG pattern they are using a new CMY pattern, this allows more light through and goes towards enhancing the ISO.

The main reason you can get away with such high ISO's on this camera is because of new "noise reduction" features applied to the image after it's taken (you can switch this off).

Resolution is the same as the 620.
