G2 and Photoshop

You could try to import your pics in another application, if that
doesn't work either your TWAIN driver is missing or damaged.
Re-installing it shoudl fix that.

I just installed PS5 also when I just got my G2...
Already uninstalled PS6 and reinstalled it...no luck

What I would try if I were in your position is download the latest
version of the Canon TWAIN-driver and install that.
