Pompeii - large bandwidth - some pix may shock.

Thanks for the 'troll' label. Someone protesting at inappropriate use of forums does not consitute a troll. Nor do negative comments automatically make a troll. It is unfair of you to label me as such. The fact that I don't often post is an irrelevant cheap shot.

"And some of us like it that way" is no excuse for spoiling it for the rest of us. It is disrespectful not only of the site-owner but also of other users. These forums are a significant and valuable resource for those of us looking for constructive criticism and help, as well as for other Fuji camera related topics. I often read through these forums. These add-hoc galleries, that are not posted appropriately, diminish the value of these forums and their explicit purpose (see the T&C's that people like Barr1e are ignoring). It is inexcusable when there is even a forum setup specifically for those who feel they must post galleries.

In time, and if the problem gets worse, the forums will lose valuable contributers and then dissolve in to effectively free galleries, at our expense.

This kind of problem is a hazard of photo related forums : the forum is intended for discussion about fuji related matters, but then overrun by people who want a free gallery and some attention.

I just checked, and they didn't make you God for the day.

Can I suggest that you adopt the policy I'm about to use - when you've no interest in a particular thread, poster or subject, simply move on!

My assertions are backed up by the simple to understand terms and conditions of this site, which appear when posting a new thread, and which Barr1e ignored. They are also backup up by commonsense, paticularly when a forum is called "Fujifilm talk". Hence no need to call upon divine attributes. Therefore I have not merited your insult. It is ironic that you accused me of being a troll.

As for ignoring such threads : these forums are being taken over by them, hence the need to dissuade from innapropriate posting.

Otherwise there will be nothing to move on to.

Not that I'm here any longer, but let me just point out that these forums, for which you've so recently developed such a concern, are nothing but the sum of the contributions that users have made to them.

Please don't worry - I'm sure that if there's any danger of inappropriate posting taking over, picture-embedding will suddenly be turned off for a while.

Inappropriate spelling is another matter .......

" but let me just point out that these forums....are nothing but the sum of the contributions that users have made to them."

...galleries of tourist snaps and absurdly bad pics of the moon?

And yet the forum is called "FujiFilm Talk" and the T&Cs specifically ask people to keep to the intent of the creator of the forum which is NOT galleries. These forums are actually what they are defined as by the creator; if they are then used for entirely other purposes then it is a contradiction; at which point the creator would be justified in an intervention (ie. removing the forum, disabling pics, whatever).

You do give clever and slippery answers which I suspect must have taken you hours to think up, but they are really off the point: which is that what you are defending is abuse of these forums, and by extension abuse of the people who have come to use these forums for their proper use, and of the site owner. I am watching these forums degrade, and Barr1es posting was too much for me.

"Inappropriate spelling is another matter ....... "

Another cheap shot. At least you could reply more respectfully.

Many thanks for your kind comments - I was most pleased to experience first hand history learnt at school (albeit some 50 odd years ago) and had the opportunity to show others what they might never see through the capable lens of the S9000/9500.

Kind regards to all.
