Just got back from Sears and....

well.. I don't know. Asked for a pricematch on the 707 and provided the Digitaldealz.com site printout. Salesperson was polite, acknowledged that they do pricematch and said he would just have to go do the normal checks. Waited about 10 minutes and he emerged and he said that the people at the call center said tehy coulndt investigate until they new what shipping was supposed to be at. So, they told him to tell me to go back to the website, select as if going to buy, print off the page including shipping, and then come back. I said OK..then remembered I had done that. I pulled out the sheet and gave it to him. He then disappeared again for about 15-20 minutes and came back out. He said, "OK.. we do pricematch and will...and I think this is a bad way to treat customers...but they (sears.com) want to investigate the site." He expessed his apoligies and that he really had no control over the situation. So he took my name and number and said that I would be contacted within 24 hours, either by him or sears.com to let me know a YAY or NAY.
 
Well at least they gave you some sort of response. I emailed and faxed the same thing and its been over 48 hours and not a word.

Well, I guess the good thing is the salesperson has to deal with me. I have a name and someone to call and "harass" if I don't hear anything by 3:00 tomorrow.

Got the same treatment from two Sears stores. Never heard from them again.

I don't plan to let this guy off the hook. I know it's not his fault but I'm not going to be ignored and have it just "go away". Having Sears.com say "no" is one thing- I can live with that and just try another store- being ignored or told " we can't sell it to you now but we will know in 24 hours" and then never hearing from them, is totally different. That's a moronic way to do business (as if not having consistency with their own pricematching policy isn't). All I want is an answer. I don't want to be treated differently just because I'm using a policy they put in place. If had gone in with 1000 dollars in my hand and said " Can you sell that to me for 950+ tax ? " - The answer would have been either YES - I can do that ( because I want the sale and you have green stuff in your hand) or No- I can't (for whatever reason). Expecting followup from these people is not too high of an expectation.

The sad thing is - had I gone at about 8:00 on a Wednesday night - I would have my 707 right now.

I took the half sheet printout of A@M and gave it to him... about 5 minutes later he came back adn said.. yea, we can do it, we just need the full sheet and shipping charges..

I'm like.. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

So.. I um..... got the shipping charges and i'm gonna go back tomorrow :D

Yea!!! I'm hoping for No problems..

but with my luck................................. yea.... I'm not gonna get it.. so i'm not geting my hopes up..

What sucks is they will probably approve yours for 150 dollars less than what i was asking to pay AND then tell me NO !! AHHAHAHAHAH

He means American Express. I choose not to use credit cards at all. Matter of fact.. I don't own one.

yes, is american express.

if you have a blue card. you can use its 'best price match' service to get upto $250 price match in one time and upto $1000 one year.
but here i do not see anyone use it. really strange.

You're pretty lucky. I went down to sears today, showed the sales dingbat the A&M printout, she took it back. Comes back a minute later, says no. Give her Broadway Photo. No. The crazy thing is it only took her a minute each time. She probably just took a few more smokes, didn't actually call anybody. Then she said that it was out of her control because of something wierd. Then she said that sears didn't even sell the F707

Went to Sears tonight to return my defective S75 and get my DD pricematch on the F707. I wasn't expecting this - the initial action was a refund on the camera but not only did they refund the camera they also refunded my PPP for the S75. Wasn't expecting that !! Then they charged me for my F707 PM'd at 659.95 with 98.99 for new PPP. The ONLY BAD THING - none in stock. Oh well, I got the main part out of the way. Pickup is in 1 week. I can't wait !!!

PM from where, what site offered the $659 price? I've been shot down twice from Sears.com today!

Digitaldealz.com had the price at 645.00 adn shipping at 14.95... the thing is I started this process on saturday when they were in stock and the sales people and sears.com called that day. For some reason they didn't approve it on site. Sears.com told store employee to tell me they needed to investigate further and would call me or the store to let them know something. Neither of which happened. Furthermore, sears.com lost ALL of the paperwork and pricing/shipping information that I watched the salesguy fax to them. So I got put off by the store and sears.com - store saying "we haven't heard anything" and sears.com saying "we don't have any paperwork on that". I was getting frustrated, so I found out the name of the person who sales manager said he talked to at sears.com. Called the guy up, waited on the phone until he found some remnant of my initial request, and got him to send me and the sales manger an approval. He only did it because there was an iniital notation from Saturday, and from the sales manager, that DD was contacted back on Saturday adn teh stuff was in stock. The guy at sears.com was apologetic and nice, as was I. It got really weird working with the store and sears.com - the right hand and left hand were working independant of each other and with no apparent cause in mind. So, it took a few days to get approved, even though DD is now out of stock.

Hang in there though. Sears.com is PM'ing Digitaldealz so wait til they get stocked and Sears will do it. The guy at sears.com told me they were doing a lot of DD pm'ing lately for all sorts of stuff - not just f707. So, apparently it's currently on the "good list" despite the low prices. I think the one thing that sets DD apart and that help sears to approve them is that on the product pages it clearly states " all items are new and come with full US warranty" (or something like that).
