I just rceived my brand new 30 mm 1.4 lens for Nikon which I bougth from ebay directly to an store in Hong Kong. My surprise is that the lens does not have a AF-M switch on it. The one in the picture of the auction, does have this switch, and the picture of the instructions manual too. The lens looks really nice, and not fake at all, but I´ve been looking through the internet, and I don´t find this model wih no switch on it. It does work great, but seems really weird to me.

Any one knows what´s going on with my lens. Do yo think it can be an old model, or a specific model for other market. Would apreciate any help.

i believe the Nikon mount Sigma 30mm doesn't have the switch - at least mine doesn't

nor does the 50-150mm

since it is HSM you can over ride the focus without having to disengage a screw drive

Aren't the HSM lenses, which I thought the 30 mm was, sort of like the AF-S Nikon lenses, where you can manual focus at anytime? so no need for a af-m switch?

But looking on Sigma site, it sure does show it with a AF-M switch...

then I have no idea...

The one in the pic will be Canon fit, since they don't have body mounted AF/M switches there has to be one on the lens.

and the picture of the
instructions manual too.
no it doesn't -

the picture says item 5 the AF-M switch is only on the Sigma and Canon mount

look closely

i assume the picture on the sigma site is sigma mount

there is nothing unusual about your lens - it is identical to mine
