The iPhone..

Sounds like a great replacement from your 5D.

Play songs while you take pictures, it will help them relax and feel like a fashion model.

Play videos for your clients that show them how to pose.

I just hope the iRAW format is supported...

LOL...looking forward to my next at bat....

Just repeating what a AT&T rep told me over the phone...the SIM
slot may be visible but how difficult to remove it? The other
points remain to be seen...
It's like the tray in the Mac Remote. Push-in at the little dimple and out it pops.!

This is a quick summary:

1. iPhones can also be purchased online at the Apple online Store, beginning 6PM, PST, tomorrow night (June 29, 2007). Should be great for those that either don't have a local Apple or AT&T Facility near them or that simply want to avoid all the crowds and such.

2. Local Apple Stores, throughout the USA, will re-open at 6PM, their local time, tomorow night, and will remain open until midnight (again, local time in their Area). In local stores, tomorrow night (June 29, 2007), you can purchase up to two iPhones on a first come basis (that is until they sell out).

3. Genius Bar and "one-on-one" training, will be available for iPhone purchasers that need it, under the Local Store's/Apple's Training Policy, beginning Saturday June 30, 2007.

4. For the rest of the Summer, Apple Stores will open early at 0900AM daily, just for iPhone sales.

$500 for the phone and a minimum of $60/month for service. That's unacceptable to me and I'm not hard pressed for cash. Love the concept and it's a very elegant piece of technology but no thanks.
for Apple to come out with this thing so they can get back to
working on computers and software.
Tom M1 :

1. The Apple Store, located in my area, is closing at 2pm, this
Friday (29 June 2007), and will re-open at 6pm, and I believe you
know why ----- to show and start selling their supply of iPhones !!

2. With the international travelers, already arriving, "just to
get iPhones", coupled with all the locals intending to get one, I
will probably have to order mine from Apple's online store.
Especially, as after you purchase one, you simply go online with
iTunes to have it activated and get your current phone number
transferred to it.

3. Some are saying the iPhone isn't worth the cost, or that one
should wait for more memory, or the "bugs" to be worked out, and
all sorts of the type of concerns that tends to accompany new
advanced technological product releases; but, from what I am
seeing, this is really not a concern, at all, of those that have
already decided to make their purchases of iPhone ------- including
me. And, so what, if a better phone comes out in 6 months or 18
months (I for one expect for that to happen), many with the first
generation phones, will likely purchase one of those too !!

4. Here is the list of rate plans, that has apparently, just been
posted:

Actually, the rate plans are very reasonable! I pay $45 per month for the very basic voice only plan with my current provider. (with NO roll over minutes or text messages)

For $14 more per month with AT&T, I will be getting the same voice plan (WITH roll over minutes) 200 text messages and UNLIMITED data usage for email and web surfing!

So, I would hardly call the rate plans "Outrageous"! The rate plan was what changed my mind about purchasing one.

Now, the actual price of the phones is another story! I would agree, they are too high. I think $300 and $400 would be more reasonable.

Outrageous is a matter of perspective clearly. I consider $45/month for basic service outrageous. To each his own. My current cell phone rate plan is $20 for every three months. That's not a typo. It's prepaid through Virgin Mobile and I don't use it very much and consequently I'm bound only by the requirement to put in $20 every quarter. That being said I would consider getting an iPhone if the rate plan was around $25/month and the phone was around $250.

Rate plans I saw virgin mobile for $24.99 = 200 anytime minutes. Thats it! No free night and weekends. No Texting. And certainly no data time.

It sounds like you do not use or need a cell phone. I'm thinking you still have a dial up connection on your PC as well! ;)

The whole phone has one physical button - the entire UI is controlled graphically. The iPhone you buy today can become the even more advanced iPhone of tomorrow, simply through software updates.

Hi All:

1. For those of you that have not just received or had time to read you email from Apple, they just released an Update to iTunes, that can now be downloaded (free, of course), and here is the Apple description of this update:

"With iTunes 7.3, you can now activate iPhone service and sync it with your music, TV shows, movies and more. Also, you can now wirelessly share and enjoy your favorite digital photos from any computer in your home with Apple TV."

2. Everything I have seen regarding the roll-out of this new Apple product release (iPhone), has been nothing but spectacular/marvelous and done with great precision. The company and its employees are actually seeming to get great pleasure in what they are doing, and certainly have in place a strategically placed network of stores and "Geniuses" (Apple, calls them this) in placed across the USA, including their online store(s) that others could find difficult to match. This experience is actually making them "Bolder" for their next such releases.

3. I hope, that when Apple takes the iPhone to other Countries, that things will work with just as much precision/competence and enthusiasm, as it has so far, here in the USA !!

4. Enough from me, I am off to start streaming some photos as mentioned in the new iTunes 7.3 Update

That should probably be a sign that a person should not purchase
one... LOL
John Rayl:

1. Unlike some other companies, Apple proves this for All their Products/Software at the Apple Stores. Work Shops are held throughout the day and are generally free, but one-on-one, for those that need it, can be custom to their needs for a nominal fee.

2. I actually have seen some "grownups" whose children can use the features on their existing "cell phones" better than their parents can, and same with computers and even DVD Recorders -------- but, with ANY Apple purchase, there is simply NO excuse for this !!

3. And, where there is no Apple store, their Online Site has Free Training for just about anything that is "Apple" -----and this is also "excellent" training.

Not to mention, that it will be as easy or easier to do and keep your iPhone up to date, as you now do with your iPods.
